In 2022, on March 16, the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 379 "On maximum and minimum values of the water level in Lake Baikal in 2022-2023" was adopted, which determined the limit values of the water level in Lake Baikal in conditions of different water content:

- maximum and minimum values of the water level in the lake. Baikal during the period of average water content at 457 and 456 m according to the Pacific system, respectively;

- the minimum value of the water level in the lake. Baikal in the period of low water (dry period) at around 455.54 m according to the Pacific system;

- the maximum value of the water level in Lake Baikal during the flood period (high water) at around 457.85 m according to the Pacific system.

In 2022, the regulation of Lake Baikal was carried out in conditions of average water content. The limit values of the level determined by the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 379 dated March 16, 2022 "On the maximum and minimum values of the water level in Lake Baikal in 2022-2023" were not reached.
