At the Tenth World Water Forum, which is taking place in Indonesia, the Russian delegation presented the largest federal projects for the conservation of water bodies, including Lake Baikal and the Volga River.
Ivan Kushch, Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Climate Change of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation, headed the group representing our country at the forum.
During the meeting of the ministerial segment, the participants noted that the growing needs of humanity in access to clean drinking water is a common global challenge of our time. The head of the Russian delegation spoke about the implementation of the national Ecology project and stressed Russia's commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals of the sixth UN Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 on water and sanitation.
Following the meeting of the ministerial segment of the World Water Forum, the parties adopted the final ministerial declaration. The Russian Federation has also joined it. The document calls on the participants of the international water dialogue to step up efforts to conserve the water resources of our planet.
