An earthquake hit 80 km from Irkutsk
On September 22, at 02:05, an earthquake hit 80 km from Irkutsk. In the city, earth tremors were as intense as 5 to 6 points with a magnitude of 5.9. The earthquake focus was 15 km from the village of Kultuk. The shocks were noticed by residents of 367 settlements on the territory of 12 municipalities of the Irkutsk region.
Throughout Buryatia, people felt the tremors from the earthquake that occurred on the night of September 22 in the Irkutsk region. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Buryatia claims there are no casualties or destructions in the Republic as a result of the incident, critical infrastructures are functioning normally.
