Rosgidromet and the Irkutsk Region have concluded an updated cooperation agreement

Rosgidromet (The Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring) and the Government of the Irkutsk Region have concluded an updated agreement on cooperation in the field of hydrometeorology and related fields, including monitoring of the state of the environment and environmental pollution.

On June 2, 2020, the relevant document was signed by Igor Shumakov, Head of the Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, and Konstantin Zaitsev, First Deputy Governor of the Irkutsk Region and Chairman of the Government of the Irkutsk Region.

The agreement specifies the main areas of cooperation between Rosgidromet and the Government of the Irkutsk Region on issues requiring concerted actions and joint resolutions as part of the work in the field of hydrometeorology and related fields, as well as state monitoring of the environment and environmental pollution in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation pertaining to the subjects of joint jurisdiction of the Russian Federation and constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

The implementation of the agreement will lead to the development of joint expansion programs for the monitoring network and the improvement of hydrometeorological support of the authorities of the Irkutsk Region, will provide the population with reliable information on the state of the environment and environmental pollution.
