The quality of water in rivers and lakes was checked in Buryatia

35 surface water bodies at swimming and recreation sites were surveyed.

Water samples of water bodies were investigated for compliance with sanitary-chemical, microbiological, parasitological and virological indicators.

According to the results of the research, the water quality in the Vitim rivers near the village of Romanovka, the Small Amalat in the area of the village of Maly Amalat does not meet the sanitary requirements for the ammonia and iron content; the Selenga river near the Tataurov station does not meet required indicators of reservoir pollution with organic substances and colour, the Talovka station area does not meet requirements in colour and ammonia content, the rivers Zheltura on the border with Mongolia and Jida near Petropavlovka failed organoleptic indicators.

According to microbiological indicators, water in the river Zheltura at the border with Mongolia, the Jida in Petropavlovka village, the lake Honhololoy in Honholoy village, the lake Iskusstvennoye in the Berezka area, the Hilok in Kharitonovo village, the Selenga in Tarbagatai village, the lake Gusinoye in Gusinoozersk, the lake Shchuchye, the river Kyakhtinka in Kyakhta, the lake Karasinoye in Hurumsha village, the river Uda in Ulan-Ude, the river Selenga in the area of the Spartak stadium, Spassky island, SNT Cheryomushki, Divisionnaya station, pit in Zagorsk, Tulunza does not meet sanitary requirements.

According to parasitological and virological indicators, water quality of water bodies corresponds to hygienic standards.

The Office of Rospotrebnadzor in the Republic of Buryatia warns the public that swimming, playing sports and recreating at water bodies that do not meet sanitary requirements is dangerous for health.
