Characteristics of habitat conditions

Beginning of winter almost everywhere was in the first decade of November, and the end - in the first half of April. Winter in the valleys and basins was predominantly frosty, moist, cloudy, windless, with a large snow cover in the pre-goltsy zone. In the upper parts of the ridges the weather was more windy, snowy and frosty with late spring. November was relatively warm and little snow, compared with the average long-term data, December was marked by an abundance of snow and very low average daily temperatures, especially in the northern regions of the territory. In the south-west, an early fall of the snow cover was noted, the temperature was noted below the long-term annual average.

Spring began in the second half of April and ended in late May - early June. The spring activation of cyclonic activity led to an increase in wind speed, precipitation in the form of wet snow and rain, the emergence and development of snow, snowstorms, storms. In the spring, strong night frosts were often observed, and when the north-western anticyclones and cyclones were blended, the cold returned.

Summer began in late May - early June. The first half was arid and slightly cloudy, in some periods rainfall fell due to the development of convective clouds.

Autumn has come in the end of August - the beginning of September. At relatively low daily temperatures, nocturnal frosts occurred in August. For the first half of the autumn, periods of warm and sunny weather were characteristic. In aggregate, the climatic conditions on the territory of the Trans-Baikal Territory in 2016 can be considered satisfactory for the habitat and reproduction of populations of wild animals.
